Back rail-sea intermodal transportation solution from China to Uk & Norway

New Rail service to Duisburg & rail-sea intermodal transportation solution from China to the UK/Nordic region

As a dozen of containers of goods arrived in Oslo, it has marked the successful completion of the first trial and its official launch of “China – UK/Nordic region” rail-sea intermodal transportation solution. This transport solution provides cargo freight from Suzhou Station to Duisburg, on CR Express, thereafter leaving for Rotterdam/Moerdijk port for sea freight to the UK, Norway, and Sweden.

Suzhou is an important industrial city in China, also an important intersection of the "Belt and Road" and the Yangtze River Economic Belt. The new land-ocean solution can create a connection between the Yangtze River Delta area with the UK and Nordic countries, serving shipments needs from manufacturers in the Yangtze River Delta area.

Advantages of the new rail-ocean intermodal mode:

  • Weekly departures
  • greatly improved reliability
  • remain as an economical mode as ”all sea" transportation
  • low carbon and environment friendly
  • predictability: it avoids uncertainties caused by the congestion of some major ports in China and Europe.
